She currently works part time for the American Red Cross as the Disaster Services/Preparedness Coordinator when not in the kiwi arbor managing statistical data, research, distribution, and marketing. As agricultural researchers, they have dedicated themselves to pioneering the development of hardy kiwi, actinidia arguta, as a viable, organic, sustainable, commercial crop. They are in the process of establishing markets, and consumer education materials for this new, nutritious, unique fruit. They have both completed a fellowship in the Rural Leadership Program, RULE, in the College of Agricultural Sciences, at Penn State University, PA where they focused their leadership skills in sustainable agricultural systems and education. David and Holly currently serve on the board of the Pocono Northeast Resource Conservation & Development Council. |
